HOT NGONI NIGHT: All the way from Mali, ladies and gentlemen, Issa Bagayogo, the international dancefloor sensation! He's touring for his new album Mali Koura, which offers blues, world beat, reggae, funk...a lot of stuff. He's offering up The Saint as an NYE clubhouse, complete with full-stocked bar, staff of nine (cooks, servers, bartenders), and a DJ to be named later. Sez Ertel, "For the next three days, the offer is on the table: The Saint can be all yours on December 31, 2008, so that you and 64 of your closest friends can throw your own New Year’s Eve 2009 Gala. Interested? Hit me back and we can talk details." All we ask is that we're invited.

Seattlest likes to put on a party-planner hat for you every once in a while (we blame it on unresolved "feelings" stirred up by Julie from the Love Boat). Tonight we've got a one-two punch all lined up, centered around a screening of the silent-era Zorro, with Douglas Fairbanks, at the Paramount (7 p.m., $12). The more we watch Fairbanks, the more certain we are that he invented parkour back in the 1920s. Watch this three-minute YouTube excerpt from Zorro to get in the mood. However, be warned that the tinny soundtrack you hear is in no way comparable to the magnificence of the Paramount's majestic Mighty Wurlitzer organ, helmed by Dennis James. The food and drink to complement this evening's imaginary expedition to Mexico are waiting at The Saint, which is conveniently a walkable distance from the Paramount—and depending on how enthusiastic you are about sampling the Saint's tequila cocktails, walking might be a legal requirement.

STEP UP YOUR BRUNCH GAME: Brunch for Seattlest usually means stumbling to the closest eggs-and-bacon joint, slamming some coffee, and thanking God we didn't have to put on real clothes for the occasion. But we will make an exception and actually dress up (ish) for a fancy weekend brunch, now offered at the Saint, if only for the opportunity to taste Tecate-marinated Carne con Huevos (yum) and sip on a house mimosa. The Saint's from the classy people at Havana, so we're sure brunch here will wake you up and calm you down in style.

Now that the weather is finally get warmer, it's time to plan some summertime drinking. Enter The Saint, the new tequila bar/Mexican cantina from Havana owner Quentin Ertel. What was once the ugly (and scary) Wing Dome behemoth is now the soothingly sky blue building at the corner of Olive and Bellevue. Ertel describes his latest social club as:

a tequila bar that would appeal to afficionados of the good life; a place where the grapefruit juice is always squeezed fresh and the pace is a little slower; where the cocktails are built from a library of fine tequilas; where the cocina bustles with cooks making food from scratch.
