Holy Jeezits, what an outstanding weekend!

First things first: Things are seriously awry in this town when a Taco-frickin'-Bell inspires multiple blog requiems when it closes, but Seattle's own Mix Ice Cream slips away into the night with nary a peep.

The University District was plagued with violent assaults this weekend. Within a 36-hour period four students were assaulted in what were thought to be related attacks, a man was seriously injured in a stabbing, and another University of Washington student was robbed at gun point.

We want to know where's the scariest place to live or hang out within Seattle city limits. (Sorry, Skyway and White Center. Check again after annexation.)

It's a huge menu, somewhere between "too many notes" and "there's got to be a pony in there somewhere." Chef Bruce Dillon, most recently in Florida, offers an almost overwhelming panoply of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Cuban, and Carribbean flavors at the soon-to-open Marazul. Perched atop Whole Foods, adjacent to the Pan Pacific Hotel, the restaurant's 170 indoor seats focus inward on a wood-and-copper décor that suggests palm trees and a whiff of the exotic.

Not a huge week in music, but hey, it's a holiday. Stay home and eat! Then put your sweatpants on!

Look out residents of The Ave - The University District Street Fair is going to be all up in your face Saturday and Sunday.
