We love our Mother Earth, but this is kind of silly. One hour of turning off the lights, everybody at once? It's called Earth Hour, and it's happening all over the country. Whatever, it certainly can't hurt. So, everyone, turn your lights off tomorrow night from 8-9pm, and show those, um, anti-Earth people. Also going on tomorrow? A bigass pillow fight. But a few comments on our post yesterday about it and an e-mail from Brooke, the organizer, prompted us to put up one last item about it. The local blogosphere has been talking today about the fall-out (literally and figuratively) from last Sunday's flash-mob pillow fight in Ballard. Apparently, the Parks Department was none too pleased about the mass of feathers left lying on the ground in Bergen Place (the small triangular park across Market St. from the Majestic Bay Theater). We remember having pillow fights as a kid and always loved them. We'd smack our friends upside the head for a few seconds and then, invariably, we'd fall over shrieking with laughter.
