38.365 - Summer Storm by Slightly North While we'll be cursing the same weather in a few months, there's something sexy and energizing about a summer storm in Seattle. Add your erotic Seattle weather photography and anything else to our wonderful Seattlest Flickr Pool.......

"Federal Building Portal" by SlightlyNorth We love everything about this photo: the angle, the fish-eye lens, the electric blueness of the sky, the ombre thing happening with the sky's blues fading into each other, the architectural qualities of the shot, and a Seattle sunburst. Send us your beautifully multi-faceted Seattle photos in the Seattlest Flickr Pool......

Grundlepuck, a regular contributor to our Flickr pool, shared this photo of Seattle Ramen. According to the label, it's produced by Pal-Do World, a Korean grocery in Lynnwood. We're curious about the ingredients. What does it take to turn ordinary ramen into Seattle Ramen? Geoduck? Dick's Deluxe? Pike Place Roast? If you've tried it, let us know if it captures the flavor of the city.......

Once upon a time, if you wanted to make money from your Flickr photos, you could turn to a site like Photopreneur for advice. Now, thanks to a new "strategic partnership," there's another way: Capture the attention of Getty Images. The gist, according to PDN Online: Over the next several months, Getty editors will invite select Flickr photographers to contribute some of their work to a new collection that will be available on gettyimages.com. Flickr......

"No Future" by Shawn McClung (Slightlynorth) Sure, he may work for our Distinguished Competition, but Shawn shares a generous number of excellent photos in our Flickr pool nonetheless. Most of them are almost as awesome as this photo, and most of them call attention to similar little-seen flourishes of detail that pop up across the city. Thanks!......

FACT: Formerly the Sultan Theater, Seattle's Lusty Lady is the original Lusty Lady. The one in San Francisco is the one that unionized and, eventually, became a worker-owned co-op. Seattle? Not a co-op. On the plus side, it's not owned by the Colacurcio family, either. FACT: The $20 that buys a 2-minute lap dance at Déjà Vu gets you 20 minutes of glassed-in nudity at the Lusty Lady. One quarter keeps a peep show......

One lucky local photographer turned the rest of us into lucky photo viewers today by getting inside the mostly dismantled Sunset Bowl the other night. We first found the collection of pictures inside the closed Sunset Bowl on MyBallard.com, which says everything sold at last month's auction will be out by Friday and that, as they say, will be that for the Sunset Bowl. After we paged through the 14 pictures in the Sunset Flickr......

"down goes frazier! down goes frazier!" by Craig Farrar (EdgarDiazRocks) We love this contribution to our Flickr pool almost as much for the title as for the shot. "You should get extra points for knocking over the scorecard girl," says the photographer. "Then again, she's the one keeping score." Good point.......

Attention all you videographers, long photographers, phonographers, experimental photographers, and media-ographers of all stripes... Given Flickr's recent implementation of video, your Seattlest photography komissars sequestered themselves to ponder thoughtfully on the possible implications of YouTube-style videos of last Saturday's kegger, say, or 90 seconds of impertinent poodle tricks on the purity of the photography pool. In the end, the passive voice stepped in and decisions were made. It was decided to make the photo......

But one day, one day...the -est will triumph! And we will store the Webby proudly in our non-existent imaginary headquarters, and it will be magnificent. Sorry, did we say that out loud? The Webby Award winners, the Oscars of the Internet, were announced yesterday and Seattlest was, again, robbed. Winning web-sites included local lolcat phenomenon I Can Has Cheezburger?, which won the peoples/popular vote for both Best Weird and Best Humor web-site. A couple......

Finally, H&M, the Ikea of clothing stores, will make its glorious debut in Seattle. Our inside sources (H&M's myspace page) tell us that not one, not two, but three H&M stores are scheduled to open in Seattle this fall. Fans of affordable fashion will soon flock to new locations at 5250 520 Pike Street, University Village and Westfield Southcenter. We know, the lack of Eastside locations is shocking, but who knows? Perhaps they'll arrive......

Remember when The Crocodile Cafe closed unexpectedly in December? Remember how up in arms everyone got, yelling about how likely it was that yet more new condos would be the result? Well the future of The Crocodile Cafe wasn't known then and still isn't known now, according to the PI: Groupee Inc., a privately held Seattle-based Internet software company, has withdrawn its application for a restaurant and lounge license at the site, said Susan Reams,......

This Seattlest's liver already hurts just thinking about all the beers we're going to try this weekend. Granted, the Hard Liver Festival at Brouwer's Cafe in Fremont officially runs all week. But, some of the good stuff will be gone before the afternoon is out on the opening day this Saturday (Doors at 11am). But, if you don't like crowds, don't come on Saturday....it will most likely be packed by noon. The sixth annual......

Seattlest was in Vancouver this weekend, and, on a whim, made our first foray into a Tim Hortons. We'd heard good things -- "the apex of Canadian cuisine," for example -- and as lifelong doughnut fans we were happy to test that claim. We bought a maple glazed ring and a chocolate longjohn and took them back to our room. The verdict: Canada, you're better than that. The doughnuts were fine, but they're nothing......
