BEST LOCAL SHOW EVER: Okay, maybe that's too strong a statement. There are people who would argue otherwise, but Seattlest is pretty thrilled with all the bands on the bill tonight at the Tractor. It's a big ol' acousti-pop night in Ballard with Grand Hallway, Kate Tucker, Odessa Chen, and Husbands Love Your Wives. Yeah, we know. Hot action. Maybe it's not as killer as a Pearl Jam-Dave Matthews-Death Cab-Heart show would be, but it's definitely the best in local music tonight.

In the New Yorker's Talk of the Town this week, they mention the IdreamofHillaryIdreamofBarack website, at which people who have dreamed of either candidate are invited to share what went down (and recently, for balance, McCain dreamers are invited to contribute, too).

George Franju's Eyes Without a Face includes one of the most horrifying sequences we've ever seen in a movie theater. It was #1 until Irreversible came along, and this is a different kind of horror, so don't let any lingering Gaspar Noe trauma dissuade you from heading to SIFF Cinema this afternoon. It's horrifying the way Psycho would've been horrifying if we hadn't been spoiled on that film's secrets long before we actually watched it.

Sometimes after a hard week at work, we turn on some Iron & Wine or Simon & Garfunkel and kick up our feet. Other weeks, we like to crank the Loverboy's "Everybody's Working for the Weekend" and RAWK.
