Spitfire is impressive to people who are mesmerized by flat screens, not unlike birds by shiny objects. Initially we felt disdain for the vulgar abundance of screens but eventually got sucked in ourselves. There’s just too much to ignore. The problem with Spitfire is it’s a blank slate. You would never know it was here, the only thing in the place that says "Seattle" is the liquor license. No "Hawk fan12" sports radio placards, no Sue Bird bobble head, nada. Disloyal like nearby Sport, but even worse because there was no discernible sports memorabilia anything--not even Boston crap--just a few sports-oriented paintings that look like they belong in Jay Buhner’s billiards room.

The game isn't good enough anymore. It's not good enough that on Sunday, in Maryland, 90 of the best athletes on the planet, guys who were the best player in the history of their high school, guys who if you tried to tackle them would run through you like you were a notion, guys who can run faster and jump higher and lift more than anyone you've ever known, will recklessly bash into each other in order to win a football game.
Sounding more like a person leaving an unsatifying relationship than a football player joining a new team, former Seahawks DE Chike Okeafor specified why he chose to sign with the Arizona Cardinals in a press conference quoted in Thursday's P-I. "Over there (in Seattle) on a day-to-day basis I felt alone, not surrounded by enough people that thought like me, felt like me, played like me on a day-to-day basis and love the game like me. So I was in search of that from my teammates, and I felt that here."
