Did you listen to The Works this week? We haven't yet. It's cocked and loaded on the iPod which ran out of batteries before we could listen to John Moe talk about Nerd Core and interview MC Plus+. We're not looking forward to it anymore, though, because now we're going to have to listen to it while knowing that John Moe is leaving KUOW. He's moving to Weekend America, which, yeah, is great and all, but what about us, John?

In his words:

I've decided to leave "some radio station where I work" for a new position as Senior Reporter and back up host at Weekend America. I'll still be based in Seattle. We're not moving. The new job is going to be a fantastic opportunity but not altogether brand new since I've been working on that show for the past few years. Still, it's going to be hard to leave some radio station where I work (okay, KUOW!, there! I said it!), which has been a great place to be for the past five years.

In the meantime, what about The Works? Says John, "Make way for The Ventrella Era!"

Some friends and Seattlest have this New Year's joke where if someone says something to you along the lines of "This is your year, buddy!" you know you had a shit past year. Well, John Moe, this is your year, except it really is your year and furthermore last year was also your year and you've just been unstoppable lately. Next year you're screwed, though. 2008 is your year, buddy.
