Bad News Already for Seahawks

Locklear220_0830.jpgIt's six days until the biggest NFL game of his life, and where's Seahawks' starting right tackle Sean Locklear? In jail!

Cops are holding Locklear, part of an offensive line that paved running back Shaun Alexander's path to the NFL MVP award, on suspicion of domestic violence. Allegedly, Locklear choked his girlfriend because he was angry that she danced with another man. Now, everyone has their own ways of expressing displeasure in a relationship. But Locklear, for the record, is 6-4 and weighs 301 pounds. Unless he's dating this woman, ya'd think that a sharp glare would have sufficed.

Locklear's being held without bail and, since courts are closed today, will prep for the NFC championship from the pokey until at least Tuesday morning. What impact will this have on the game? Coach Mike Holmgren, contacted by the AP, claims that Locklear will still play, but, at the very least, expect game announcers to be judicious in their use of the term "jailbreak screen."

Ooh, my boss walked into my office just as I was reading this to tell me Locklear had just been ordered released, but he had to promise to stay away from GF.

Which, as my boss pointed out, might be difficult, since um, they live together.

But then, I suppose Paul's got a spare bedroom at the mansion he can use for a couple of weeks...
