Seattlest has no time. No time to contemplate our future. No time to mindlessly surf the internet. No time to pick blackberries, baby our sunburn, tune up our bike, while away the hours, smell the roses, make another pot of coffee, stop for a 12-pack on the way home, be annoyed by the Blue Angels or write this post. We certainly have no time to attend the Take Back Your Time North American Conference in Seattle today through Sunday.
Although we wish we did.
The Take Back Your Time conference at Seattle University will address "overwork, overscheduling" and, our favorite, "time poverty," with talks by personalities such as Cecile Andrews, Richard Conlin and Ann Crittenden. There are workshops, roundtables and blah blah blah who has time for this stuff. We're sure it's all very life affirming.
If Seattlest had the time to post this item earlier you might have been able to actually attend this conference, but as things stand you're out of luck. However, their evening sessions are open to the public, so if you can move up a few meetings, put off dinner, skip practice and set the Tivo you can still check it out. The full schedule is here. Seriously, you're experiencing a time famine. Chill out.

Damn it I went. And it was good. This guy Doherty talked about overscheduled kids and he was funny and also had some good points. A goddess named Kate sang about not rushing through this beautiful life and I wanted to rush out and buy her CD, which isn't cooked yet. She plays around town tho, so check her out at www.katesmusic.com
We had wine and cheese balls.
Ann Crittenden talks tomorrow (Friday) and if you are a mother or act like a mother, go listen. She will make give you good perspective and a shot of moxie. And if you are lucky like me, a kiss on the cheek.
I shall not paraphrase URLs. That was www.musicbykate.com
